Operations Research Engineer
Overview
We are seeking a skilled Operation Research Engineer to join our innovative team who enjoys working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You will play a crucial role in enhancing our CNTIENT-Optimize automated scheduling solution with cutting-edge machine learning algorithms and models. You will leverage your experience with operations research, optimization techniques, and dynamic programming, as well as developing and applying simulation models. You must also be comfortable taking ideas from theory to deployment.
Location
Houston - hybrid in the office 2-3 times a week
What you will be doing:
- Design and implement mathematical models and algorithms to optimize processes, resource allocation, and decision-making.
- Utilize optimization techniques, such as linear programming, integer programming, and dynamic programming.
- Analyze and preprocess large datasets to inform models and derive actionable insights.
- Develop and run simulations to validate models and assess performance under different scenarios.
- Build tools to automate data collection and analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize activities that address key milestones and requirements.
What you will need:
- US Citizenship, Permanent Resident (Green) Card
- Bachelor’s, Master’s degree, or Ph.D. in a relevant field: Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Computational Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, etc.
- 2-5 years of experience in software development and operations research or similar role.
- Experience developing and implementing large scale optimization models using linear programming, mixed integer programming, and heuristics.
- Proficiency with Python and familiarity with Rust, ORTools, and data science libraries such as Numpy and Pandas.
- Familiarity with OR-Tools and other optimization libraries such as Gurobi and CPLEX.
- Familiarity with machine learning frameworks, including TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Keras.
- Proficiency in Jupyter Notebook for development, testing, and communicating results.
- Proficiency with Linux development environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a solid understanding of statistical analysis and data modeling techniques.

Salary:
$130,000 - $170,000
